Hey guys I am seeing this motor for sale: 1987 Force 15 hp Outboard Motor
it is a tiller. Are they any good. I was trying to look up some info on Force motors but there are a lot of opinions out there and I figured that I trust you guys more than some random site. What do you think? Supposedly it "starts easily and runs smooth".

Thanks for any advice you guys might have to give.
 
Mercury got the Force line when the purchased Bayliner Boats. The last few years the Force motors have "By Mercury Marine" on the side below the Force Name. Some force powerheads were derived from the old Chrysler motors. Some of the last Forces built used Merc legs and lower units but for the most part this stuff was Chrysler based also.

I prefer Johnson or Evinrude if I'm in the market to buy an older motor. It makes finding parts much easier when they break.
