I have a 1975 9.9 Evinrude with remote cables on my Polarkraft. What year Evinrude would use the same cables? I'd like to get a 25 HP Evinrude, and need to know if the newer ones use a different cable than my 9.9. In Pa. we have 20 HP restrictions at some of the lakes I fish. I'd like to have a 25 for fishing the unrestricted areas. Thanks Todd
 
There is a good chance your cables will fit right onto a newer engine. OMC made two different width trunnion anchors depending on whether you are running snap-in cables or the earlier versions. Those anchors are interchangeable on the engine. Length wise your cables will be good to go.
