Hi, i am totally new to small boat engines, but it looks like i am missing a part of the carb(?) from the pics? Shouldn't there be something that screws onto that lighter metal part?? Supposedly this is a 1989 Evinrude 30HP. The engine runs...

Thanks - but do you know what it is called, or where I could pick one up? Seeing a gaping hole like that concerns me :lol:
 
I know it as an air box check ebay. Boat motors don't normally have air filters as there is very little dust out on the water.

They eliminated the air silencer on that model motor.
It came that way from the factory.
I have a '88 30 hp Johnson and no air silencer.
