am putting together my 4th jon boat. going very light this time.
Alumacraft 1442 no center seat with 20" transom
light weight is important as i will tow it to texas for the winters with a ford focus 4 cyl engine.
i have a 1448 with three bench seats and a 2001 15 hp manual short shaft johnson whichs works very well.
that is until i have to try to move from the helm to the bow, then its a struggle to crawl over that center seat. at age 71 the old football and skiing injuries really diminish one's mobility.
am hoping to find the 15 hp long shaft 2 stroke electric start outboard with remote controls.
want to find a narrow, aluminum, side console for the steering wheel and controls.
