30 hp Johnson thermostat

How big of a deal is to change a thermostat on a 30 hp 1992 johnson 2 stroke?It looks like I just remove the cover on the back of the cylinders and that should be it.any tips or things to be wary of?thanks!

Not too sure the difference but I have a 75 25hp and it took all of about 2 minutes to replace mine.

thats what I'm hoping for.On my Merc it was a 2 minute job,this looks a little more involved.We'll see once i start pulling bolts.

It will be easy unless you have a bolt that is seized and it snaps off. I just did my 88' 30hp and busted the bottom bolt inside the lower engine cover #-o Got it out with an Oxy/Ace torch though

Expect to find this behind that cover if it has never been off

got it done last night.Wasn't bad.No stuck bolts,runs fine and it actually warms up now.
