I currently have a mercury classic 50 on my 16 foot aluminum bass boat. I hit 31 mph max. It is not on a jackplate. What can I do to get a few more mph. Performance carb, exhaust. Let me know thanks!

I'm not quite sure my uncle put it on for me. Will changing the pitch make it faster? What will I lose in return?
You need a tach to make sure you don't over prop the motor.They don't like to be lugged.
The classic 50 Merc is what they race in APBA.
