Tiller handle angle?

I have a long shaft 25 Merc (1997) that I need to lift about three inches with a jack plate. I also need a tiller extension, especially after the jack plate. The lower position of the OEM tiller handle will be too high after these mods. Is the handle angle adjustable to move more horizontal? Thanks guys!

Nope. Being part of a steering system there is very little adjustability built into any of the manufacturers systems. Liability of manufacturing steering systems pretty much dictates this.

Well I better figure out how to modify it, or I'll have to stand to drive this thing!

How bout a pedestal seat. Thats what I do in mine. Pedestal extensions come in all kinds of different lengths. Easier than trying to modify a fixed casting steering system on an outboard. Keep in mind that you may want to sell that engine some day.
