I have an 86 Tracker V-17 with a Classic 50 (45hp) Merc. on it. I can not for the life of me, get the carbs adjusted. It will either die or run way too rich. there is no middle ground. Are these hard to rebuild or can you trade your old carbs in for rebuilt ones? I've never torn a carb apart before and it looks to be rather a delicate operation. I've run carb cleaner (Seafoam) through it and it did not help.

The carb is probably stopped up.I just went thru a friends 40hp merc and it was fairly simple.Yours shoulb be the same or close.Make shure every small little orfice is clean.
