Hey guys I have a 1648 custom semi-v flat with a 40 hp johnson tiller that I am wanting to put a jack plate on. Will this give me any more top end speed? Also I'm looking to convert it to a center console, any pointers on the best way to make this happen?

It may..... depending on where your motor is at in the water currently when running on plane. Less motor in the water means less drag, which equates to more speed. But there is a fine line with this because your motor will tend to cavitate or blowout easier the higher you get it. Especially in hard turns. Make sure you keep your water intakes below the waterline.
