So my new to me 1959 Lonestar Newport came with a 1959 Johnson 35hp Sea Horse. At first we could not get it started, and I was starting to look at something newer. But I along with a friend got it going. She now purrs like a kitten.

Anyways, the plan is to restore the boat, motor, and matching 1959 Lone star trailer. However, I need to find the correct decals for the motor, and have come up empty with a search. Here is a pic of the motor. Is there a source to get everything I need to restore the motor?

Also, I have a teleflex steering system, I would like to use. Has anyone adapted one of these systems to work on a older outboard? I was thinking of getting a piece of stainless pipe, and build some brackets, and weld them to the pipe, and have it powdercoated white to match the motor, but not sure if it will work correctly since it will be above or in front of the motor mount instead of through it as it was designed.

That is perfect. Thank you.

I also have to look into a electric start, and choke systems for the old girl.
