Hey guys, thanks for the help so far i took my 9.2 out for a test run this weekend started first pull everytime and it ran good but i have a few questions please......
It pushed my 14 ft v with 3 people at 5.8 mph which i thought was slow my 7.5 pushes the same at 7mph....
the tiller at one point must have skipped or reinstalled because nothing lines up for start, shift, etc not a big deal but i was wondering if its out of position and thats why i didnt get the mph. Heres a pic of the cam when the throttle is wide open. Also i was thinking maybe because its a 2 blade prop, which is well used......... Looks like i have a oil leak i will need to address dont know if its a gasket just needing to swell from sitting for a few years or????
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
Corey

Look to see if the carb throat butterfly is opening all the way when you rotate the handle to WOT. If it is, you should get a manual and go through all the carb and timing adjustments.

I do have a factory service manual and i adjusted the carb to that i think i am about 1.5 turns out on the main, it has been ultrasonicly cleaned, i will check the butteryfly/cam
Maybe ill have to get a tach and see my max rpms
thanks
Corey

at wot, the throttle cam should rotate all the way to the left. the butterfly should be open all the way, but not too far that the bf starts to close. it looks to be out of sync.
as for power, chrysler motors dont really like to rev to much. dont ask how i know.

Thanks, ive got a portable tach coming so ill check the rpms..... i have a 15hp johnson so this will be a spare/buddy motor.... at this point in the pic the butterfly was fully open..

Sorry if this is stating the obvious for you but that carb probably has 2 butterflies, one for choke and one for throttle. Don't get them confused.
