help and suggestions for my 15hp outboard

This weekend I will be picking up my first outboard motor and im a first time boat owner. My question is what should i do to it it has been sitting for awhile so what kind of tune ups or other maintenance should i do to it. OR if anybody has suggestions to help me ....thanks for all your help mike

2 or 4 storke? Year?
Carb cleaning and kit
New water pump empeller/kit

Check l/u oil, Fire it up and see how it runs

If the outboard does not start easily, you should find a marine shop that specializes in that motor and bring it in for a tune up. It can save you from a major headache when you want to use the motor and it does not run.
