1971 mercury 9.8 hp 110 no spark HELP!!

I bought a mercury 110 9.8hp with the thunder bolt ing. I brought it home fix the gas line that blew and she fired right up. The engine was only used twice by a older man. So I was rippin in the mullica river. I turned it off to fish and it wouldn't start back up. I thought I flooded it at first. But when I got it home I found no spark. I know there r points and condessors. What else could I look for? Or is there a common problem anyone can help me with? Thanks any info is greatly appreciated.

Do you have spark on either cylinder? You might want to check to make sure the kill switch is not shorted to ground.

Download a manual, that "probably" has a phase maker ignition.
I just bought a 72, needed to do all the wiring from stator to coils. Try bending one of the wires going to the coils. see if it cracks. Do you have spark?
Post serial number, I'll try to help ya out.
