was told this carb is a 35hp off a 85 Johnson/evinrude. it has a tag with a number and hp and 21 CI, number on the bottom half and top half. also the throat measures an inch and three eighths across. did a search on all 3 numbers and nothing????[[029 (640x480).jpg028 (480x640).jpg026 (640x480).jpg

Open up the butter fly and check the throat . The 35 will have a much larger ID that the 25.
Johny25 has some good pics here

actually I was told it was off an 1984 not an 85. both carbs throats (the 25 and 35 hp) are 1 3/8 inch where they connect to the intake(and 1 1/2 inches at front of carb). both 25hp and 35hp for my year (1980 and I believe up to 84 ) motor have the same intakes and the 25's and 35's share the same powerheads for each yr and sometimes 2 yrs from 79 to 84. difference in the carbs is that plastic deal in the I D of the carb throat on the 25 wich makes it suck less air hence less HP. look in johnnys pics and you will see...so I know I have a 35 carb but now I have 2 problems.. the nipples where the fuel line from the pump connects to the carb are two different sizes, and this is what I don't get...the 25hp has the bigger (dia) nipple and fuel line and the 35 has the smaller(dia) nipple and fuel line. and problem 2 is what the h*** carb kit to get for the 35 beings I don't know what year it is?????? now both carbs are the same size( bowls, upper and lower half) and look identical except for the ID in the throats and the 35 has the bracket deal for the electric choke. sooo im thinking the carb kit for my 1980 25hp and the 35 are the same kit but the 35 has bigger float valve, seat etc......... oh and can I get the orfice plug out with a reg screwdriver if im careful?

I was able to but I had soaked the carb in Seafoam for a few days first.
