I'm looking to buy my first boat. It's a 2008 Tracker Grizzly 1654sc with a 40hp Mercury 4stroke. It is a propeller motor but I think the boat has a mod channel on the hull for a jet motor. Will this set up still function properly? Or Should I abandon the idea of buying this boat?

Comments please.

I have a crestliner 1652 with a tunnel as well.
You will loose around 2/3 mph but not a deal breaker...at least for me.
I fish shallow lakes and rivers and this tunnel ill get the lower unit alittle higher from the rocks.
I had a 40hp,went around 33mph;I now have a 30hp...goes 28.
There's two types of tunnels prop and jet, mines a jet and I use a prop. That one looks like a jet as well.

Zum - when you say 2/3 mph to you mean two thirds or 2 or 3 mph?
