I have a 30hp nissan tiller and am wondering if it will do ok on a 17' welded Jon.
Can't afford new engine and need a bigger boat. At the heaviest It be 3 adults with tackle. Any advice appreciated.

Should work fine. I'm not an expert, but I would say you could see 25+ mph.

i doubt you'll break 20mph with 3 200lb men on board

my 30hp evinrude 2 stroke pushes my 1436 32mph with just me on board, but yea if it's just you, it will prolly go 25mph

A Tracker grizzly 1754 is rated for a 30hp max according to their website. Hoping with the right prop it'll be ok but have read conflicting opinions. Kinda confusing cause all other brands I've researched have a higher max rating hp. I have it on a 1444 alweld now and it's really fast with 2 -200lbs+ men.

What's the weight on the 1754 vs the 1444? I can't believe the 1754 is only rated for 30 hp but it is what it is I guess.
