Help me to understand.

This might be a dumb question and I've asked a few folks I fish with but there is a know under my ignition switch on my controls and I have no idea what it's for. I've messed with it a little and can't figure it out. Lol help me out guys and I hope I don't feel stupid[attachment=-1]uploadfromtaptalk1397163979622.jpg[/attachment]

If it is on the shifted it might be the tension control knob.
But it looks odd to me. Can you take a pic from farther back.

Yes, that should be a tension adjustment knob.

When I bought the boat it was turned all the way to the right and I messed with it a little but never seen any changes in anything. Thanks guys for the info.

Has nothing to do with the shifter.
That is a throttle friction adjustment.
You only want it adjusted to the point the throttle handle does not creep back by itself.
