I'm working an older 3 HP Eska 2 stroke air cooled outboard. I should have the coil, condenser and points replaced this coming week. I should also have the carb rebuilt by the end of the week .. I hope.
Anyway my question is about the oil. I always read you have to use outboard oil with a TC-W3 rating to lube the parts. But on many labels it states it has additives for low temperature water cooled motors. Mine is an air cooled motor and would certainly run at a higher temperature.
I was thinking about Amsoil Saber Outboard but again it states lower temperature water cooled outboard. Than there's Saber Professional for weed whackers, chain saws, etc. that are air cooled and higher temperature.
It's getting confusing. Thanks in advance for any help.
