I've seen reference to 15hp vs 25hp motors. Text only references usually, so here is a real-world comparison.

Big difference? Both motors were mounted to the exact same boat. War Eagle 548. 15'6" long, 48" wide, hull weight approx 350 lbs (boat only). Battery 39 lbs. Wiring about 10 lbs. Trolling motor about 45 lbs. Me=180 lbs. 2 seats-around 20 lbs. Tackle box and rods are 46lbs even. Fuel tank with a couple gallons of fuel is about 9 lbs including the fuel line. 15 hp motor weighs 105 lbs. The 25 weighs 140. Total weight for the 15hp combo is 804lbs. With the 25 it's 839. Weight measurements are +/- 5 to 6 lbs (my scales aren't perfect).

the 25 runs 31.7 on the GPS. 10x11" prop. The 15 runs 23.1 max with the stock prop-I can't remember the dia an pitch. I think 9 1/4 x 10" IIRC. Notice the difference in the time to plane. The 25 is roughly 3.8 sec. The 15 is roughly 6.7 seconds. BIG difference. I love the 15 but I'm gonna keep my 25 :)
