I picked this thing up today (already took the lashing from my wife) and now I need to proceed in making it work again.
I cannot find any ID on it but according to the cowl it is a 15hp. I figure it is '50s era due to the dual line fuel setup.

1953???
Any thoughts?

Funny, I cannot find any motor numbers on the thing. I can see a spot where a placard was attached at one time, but it is no longer there.

I don't see a tilt bracket either.

Do you know if the parts for all those years are interchangeable?

Good deal, thanks!

I tore into the gearbox today and have discovered it is a bit of a mess. took some heat and force to get the pinion gear out. I think i need to get the entire unit soaking in some cleaner and go from there. Of course there was not a drop of oil inside when I opened it so....

I have yet to start the electrical part, but I can already see it is in need of some work. it appears to have the original coils and stuff, including the original wires.

Oh well, it gives me something to do so it's all good.
