Hello!

I've got a 1988 Force 35hp 2 stroke outboard. I'm having trouble adjusting the carb and timing. I was wondering if anyone had any help articles on the linkage sync or helpful knowledge.
The motor will run somewhat fine once its on, but I have to idle it up to get it to stay on and it doesn't like to idle where it should according to the marks on the cam.

Any tips are appreciated!

Thanks,

Can't help, but have the same situation with a 2004 Johnson 9.9.
Set up the link and sync. as per instructions; it won't idle, and the roller at full throttle sits right on the edge of the ramp on the cam.
WTH? Set the roller past the pick up mark on the cam, to where it would idle, which also moved the roller further onto the ramp of the cam at full throttle, and it idles and runs good!
These settings are nowhere near what they should be, but it's where the motor works. ??????

See if thats what you need. I got another manual if it dont. Its under speed control linkage.
