New motor day - '13 Mercury 9.9 4-Stroke

In the interests of simplified logistics, a cleaner lake, less smoke and the advancement of quiet weekends at the cottage, our Springbok will now be powered by a slightly used Mercury 9.9 4-stroke.

Getting the introduction to it in the test tank at the dealer, I gotta say I'm impressed with it. It doesn't even seem to weigh much more than the '90 8-horse Merc it's replacing. Didn't think it'd even be that quiet, but wow.

Can't wait for the weekend.

Congrats, I've got a 5hp 4s and you can "almost" carry on a normal conversation at 3/4 throttle. :lol:

I'm a 2 stroke guy through and through, but it must be nice to have it so quiet.
