Just purchased this today. We took it out and it ran awesome! Extremely clean and original prop is perfect, no wear or scratches. Gave 1900.00 for it. Is this a good deal?? The G3 1750 boat ran 30 mph with 3 guys who weight 745 pounds total.

SwampThing07 » 16 Jun 2014, 20:30[/url]"]Yes curious as how your getting 30. I have same motor on 1652 and with 2 I hit 28.5. Good motor though.

We used phone GPS to check speed. Im not worried about the speed much anyway. Just wondered if I gave to much for the engine. The NADA book says $1575.00, I figured these motors would bring at least $3000.00.

As a side note, we had that motor on my old boat and trailer on craigslist. It was listed for $2500. Got an offer for $2250 for just the motor.
Hmmmmm.

So we listed the motor seperate from the boat for $3000, 2 days later it sold for the full $3000. Now we still have the boat and trailer to sell.

Crazy.

It all depends on the buyer.

If someone is looking for a C40 Yamaha triple, then they'll pay top dollar for a good one. If they don't care what brand, they'll try to lowball ya.

30 mph is about right on a G3 hull.

Good motor. You did good, especially if you like it. Take good care of it and it'll take good care of you. Might even make a few $$$ down the road if you decide to sell it for some reason.

Thanks y'all!! Good points. I will be putting it on my old 1988 Fisher Marine Marsh Hawk 3V. I'm in the process of restoring it now. Have it stripped down already.
