2003 Mercury 9.9 two stroke. Just bought the motor. Before I bought it, I asked the guy to start it up. There was no place for muff's, like I have seen before. Guy said it in-taked the water from the middle of the prop. Ok, so why no weed guard? I can see the prop nut. Do I have to use a 1/2 drum of water when I want to run it between outings?
