I have a motor that I going to sell for parts. It is a 1974 20 hp Mecury. It has a new pull start, water pump and prop plus I have a spare lower unit. How much do you think I should ask for it?

Just curious about the outcome of the second opinion? I assume the other shop declared it junk?

well, for me, I am a E-Bay fanatic !!!

I would take photos, describe as accurately as possible,
and list it on the E-Bay auctions and let the population decide what
each part is worth.

That way, you can reach far beyond your neighborhood.
All prices are determined by Supply and Demand.
you may be disappointed in how much some parts will sell for
and pleasantly surprised at what other parts sell for.
it is a gamble, yes . . . but, parts for vintage motors are getting more and more scarce.
Just be sure to cover your packing and handling fees in the shipping costs !!!!

just MAKE SURE nothing smells like GAS when you mail it !!!!
