I have a 1998 Merc 5hp and it is leaking gear oil from behind the prop. I was able to take the nut and washer and prop off easily but the thrust washer is frozen. I don't want to use heat in fear of more damage. Anyone have any tricks besides spend money on a puller?! I don't know where or how to use any kind of force or pressure without damaging the housing. Thanks for any help!
