I am going to fabricate Jack plate for my small 1036 flat bottom Jon boat. It will be for a 3.3 hp motor. It's a really light weight motor so this is really going to be a simple build. My question is what would be the ideal height that the prop should be in once it has been raised. I want to be able to go in really shallow water and still get good performance out of the motor. I am also considering making it adjustable. What are your thoughts?

Build the plate with adjustment holes in it.
I would think, if you are adding set back as well, that the little engine could run extremely high as it will not be a planing set up.
If that is the case then water supply and prop ventilation will be your only limiting factors. Should be a shallow water monster!
