water into boat from jackplate only in reverse

15/48 Alumacraft - Vance jackplate - Honda 9.9 .Water GUSHES into boat coming up thru center of jackplate only in reverse with a moderate throttle. Im trying to think of how correct this or block it without causing another problem. Any ideas would be helpful. Almost forgot to say motor is up 5.5 inches.

I have the same issue with my TH mini jacker. I picked up an old aluminum road sign and will be using some of it to make a block / dam for the mini jacker.

Thin gauge aluminum sheet cut to fit and screwed to the bottom of the 1/4" plate would be my guess. Simple and effective. No need to seal it.

Rivet an aluminum plate over it, mine does the same thing
