I'm looking to get a little better ride and performance out of my boat. I have a 16 ft Sea Nymph with a 40hp Mercury. I'm thinking of adding an aluminum whale tail to the motor to get rid of the cavitation and hop. Anyone have any experience with the hydrofoils? Do they really work?

I wouldn't run a small skiff without one! Best/top-rated is those by SE Sports. I'd but the 200 model if your OB has power trim/tilt. The 300 model is bigger ...

They do help with the porpoising and cavitation issue. make sure to bolt it on with SS bolts, as the "Quick Connect"style ones have a tendency to fall off #-o
