How can I install a tether kill switch on this motor. Where would it connect to kill the engine and what type of switch would work.
I'm running the motor from a pedestal seat so it makes me nervous to think of hitting a log.

You'll need a lanyard kill switch similar to this one.

You'll have to mount it to the outboard and that will probably require drilling a hole in the cowling to mount it. Attach one of the leads of the new switch to ground. Next, locate the 2 wires that go to the current kill switch. One of it's leads goes to ground and the other goes to the ignition. Attach the 2nd lead from the new switch to the wire that goes from the old kill switch to the ignition. You may have to splice the two together.

Thank you! That was simpler then I was thinking. I couldn't figure out if I could use the original kill switch wire or not. Or how it worked to kill the motor. Ignition/ ground. Duh. Lol
