Anyone built a fixed transom mount for a Jon type boat? I am looking to mount a 20" Merc 15hp on my 15" transom(long shaft motor on a short transom). Any input out there? Need a full 5" lift.

Here is what I did to raise my Johnson 50/35. IIRC, I had to raise it 5 or 6". I used 1" square aluminum tube welded to .125" aluminum sheet. Very sturdy.

That looks very strong,After lots of internet searching i am going with a manual adjust style "jackplate" made by me. I got busy this morning with some 3/8"x 3' aluminum angle. My transom will never be the same!
