I have obtained a 1969 Johnson 9.5 outboard.
I would appreciate any help with the following.
1. Where can I obtain the cowl gasket that goes in between the cowl and the motor housing.as you can see this one is shot.
2. Recommendations to buy the paint (preferably aerosal )to refurbish the cowl and the housing.
3. Where to obtain a decal kit/ for the cowl of the engine?

I have found a few places online for the gasket and also for the paint and for the decal kit but if I could find somebody with in this forum I would much prefer to do that.
Thanks again

www.boats.net might have the gasket, if not you can take a piece of rubber vacuum hose and make a straight cut down one side with a razor blade then just set it on in place of the gasket. You just need to find a hose with a sidewall comparable in thickness to the gasket (Mariner no longer makes that gasket for my motor so I had to make my own.)

I got my Mariner reproduction decals from Garzon Studio and I'm very happy with them (pics on my thread. Their Johnson badges are found at https://www.garzonstudio.com/outboard/johnson.html

I couldn't find a true fit gasket. I did however find several other years and models with the same style but longer length of gasket. I had to cut a section of one out and work it around to reshape it.

Try Peter Macdowel at NY marine
https://www.nymarine.ca/
He has cowl gaskets and paint.

Also check out Reprotint for paint.

I haven't used either place yet but I've
heard good things about them.

Thank you all for the info. Nymarine has the cowl gasket, I have an inquiry into him. I found the paint from evinrude Johnson at a lower price than I could find anywhere else. Currently priming and wet sanding now. Decals are being cut by a local guy and I'm gonna see how they turn out. Thanks for all the help.
