Johnson Seahorse 3hp

Just discovered a Johnson 3hp Seahorse hiding in a pile of junk out in the garage. The model # is JW-13. After a quick search I believe this is a 1957 model. Correct??

If it runs I'd love to put it on a little tinny or Gheenoe. It appears to be in descent condition considering its age. I'm going to try and get it running this weekend. Curious as to what oil mixture to use? I see recommendations for 16:1 and 24:1. Any input?

You may want to change the water pump impeller. Most likely it is brittle from age. Also check the lower unit oil, could have water in it.

Thanks for repair info links. Definitely plan on ordering a carb kit and new impeller.

I think it looks pretty good for a 60 year old unrestored motor.
