My 1994 70hp Evinrude overheated and is seized. I have Stumbled Across a 1996 60hp Evinrude and was wondering if these are the same poweerheads?

Pretty much everything will change over. Make sure you update your water pump, OEM not aftermarket, with a complete new kit, not just an impeller. There were changes to the cooling system that helped powerhead life. All parts and instructions are in the newer kit. This engine should be turning close to 6000rpm when propped out correctly. Less will affect powerhead life.

Here's some info attached that has the info on the waterpump upgrade kits and info on optimizing and maintaining the cooling system.
