I was rebuilding the 3 carbs on my 40hp, but I can't fit any of my 10mm sockets onto the main jet, it is so close to the float seat there isn't enough clearance to fit a socket. Is there a special tool for this? A brand of 10mm socket that is unusually thin? It is very frustrating, no way to fit an open ended wrench either

I took my oldest deep well socket and slowly worked it down on my bench grinder! Be careful to not get it too hot!

I ground a 6 point socket down. 1/4" drive of course. Only way to do it.

That's not the main jet. That's the seat for the float valve, just so you know. Main jet is smack in the middle of the carb, and has the main nozzle under it....and the pilot jet is to the side of the main jet and nozzle.
