I've been doing some mods to my boat trying to get it set up the way that I want it. It's a long way from being done but hey Rome wasn't built in a day. I bought a kicker motor mount and not sure where to mount it. The mounting directions to say to measure from inside of clamp to captivation plate which mine is 22.5" then to tape yardstick at 22.5" on top of motor mounting plate then minus 1 inch off of bottom. So on my boat I'm not sure where to mount it if I do it on the red circle the bottom of the mount is almost right at bottom of boat. Towards the end of summer I'm cutting the fiberglass back off the back and making a casting deck to the transom and shortening up the splashwell up about 1/2 of what it is now. So where should I mount my kicker motor?

This is the plan for the back when I redo the floor towards end of summer.

This is what I did last year. I only have a 6hp kicker so it's not too heavy.

I would mount it on the port side, that way you can steer with your left arm.

I added an articulated aux mount last year. It raises up so kicker is well clear of water when running fast.

I got a 'entry level' one & added extra bracing, as it was structurally marginal.

Probably would better to get the high end one, or shop CL for a used one.
