I have a new to me 8hp Honda short shaft for my 12' tin boat. I'm looking at the engine specs and noticed that the 9.9 has the identical engine with the exception of the top RPM being 500rpm higher on the 9.9
Does anybody here know how to tweak this 8hp to get 9.9hp out of it? Is the carb the same? Restrictor plate? Timing?
