Hi

Is it possible to replace the foam inside of an engine cover?

I guess it's there to reduce noise?

Thanks for the advice.

What size OB motor in HP are we talking about?

Yes ... there are OEM and aftermarket foam kits.

Yes ... but marginal results as to how effective it is.

SoundGuard does make a `$60 kit of insulating foam with lead deadening material on it ... tried it on a boat with an open/cut-through transom where there was a seat aside each side of the OB motor. There was still a TON of noise coming out from the lower pan, exhaust outlet and all ... I probably would have needed a $1,000s dollar meter to tell if there was any real difference.

IMHO ... you don't need it ... but see my 1st question.

Hi thanks for the information. It's for a 1977 70 hp Evinrude. I'll have a look at the aftermarket kit
