I picked up a 14' Arkansas that has, what I think to be, a 1970 or 71 Sears 3hp tiller. The idle knob is not attached to anything, the carb has a fuel line from the tank, one hose from the carb that is blocked off and a third tube that is not attached to anything. Is there anyone here that can point me in the right direction, finding parts and info is a bit hard. Thanks in advance.

You might not like this advice .... but I'd ditch that motor and get something newer and already working well.

I only say that because I've spent countless hours in my barn fiddling with old small outboards .... and spending way too much money and time tracking down and buying parts .... only to have the darn thing never run right anyway.

But that's just me.

If you want to fix it though, first thing is to track down a good parts diagram. It will show you exactly where all those hoses are supposed to go. Start doing Google searches for specific carb parts. Often times the site that sells the part will also have a diagram with everything labeled.

give us some photos.... I bet we can get it going.....

Sorry, It runs. I haven't had it on the water yet but it does start. I will try to get some good pics tonight. If not.i will get them this weekend.

Ha sounds like the hoses that count are working! Maybe one went to an air cleaner/cover of some sort?

Is it one of these ?
