Got a question for you guys that have converted to jet pumps. When you swap out the lower unit for the jet pump is it a wash as far as weight, or are they heavier, lighter?
 
Yup heavier. And some motors are specifically jet oriented, in that the ignition and fuel mapping in the EFI's control unit is designed around the jet foot's load characteristics. So converting a Yamaha F40 prop EFI motor to a jet doesn't always work out as planned and converting an F40JEHA to a prop has never worked well. Done it both ways and I recommend against such practice.

carbureted motors, I dont think there's a big difference. Might have to turn the idle speed up or down a little.
