Could someone tell me with the RPM should be on my 1985 mercury 4 cylinder 50 hp should be at wide open throttle?

Doesn't help ... but most published RPM charts (see link attached) for OBs don't list the earlier Mercs. But some do list the 50hp as the 'Classic 50' ... but I sure wouldn't want to steer you wrong.
I had one that I purchased new in 1984. At the time the dealer that had set it up for me said to prop it at 5500 and that worked for me for years. Great motor. Would troll down to nothing for fishing and worked to pull my kids on skis
It's not stamped anywhere on the engine/tag?

There is a sticker but all it says is that the timing should be 30* btdc at 5500 RPM.....Crazyboat said:
