Bought a new propeller for my 15 hp honda, original was 9 1/2 by 9 1/2 ,,got a new one 9 1/4 by 9,,hoping this will slow down the boat a little bit for trolling, hoping I was right, havent tried it out yet,was told I would loose some at top end but should be a bit slower for trolling hope I made the right choice,,,any ideas?

I don't know how much slower you want to go but going from a 9-1/2 pitch to a 9 pitch reduces your top and bottom end speed by only 5%.

The most common fix to trolling too fast is to add a trolling motor. You can also drag an empty 5 gallon bucket through the water to slow you down.
