Nissan outboards?

I was looking at getting a 5hp 4 stroke Nissan from Cabelas for my jon. Does anyone here have any info on these? I've read a few reviews, but still not sure. The Mercury I just sold I bought used and had to many problems to list, just got to where I couldn't trust it even though I was running perfect! :mrgreen:

Same motor as Tohatsu. If I was buying a new small 4 stroke motor, say under 25 - 40 horse, I would definitely be looking at the little Nissan/Tohatsu motors. Hondas are the best 4 strokes in my opinion, but they are pricey. I wish Tohatsu still made the two stroke line, as they were turning into real good motors, but that is long gone with all the garbage from the EPA.

But, if I was getting a 5 horse, I would still be looking at older 2 strokes.
