so i plan to use the boat most of the winter, if the rivers not froze ill run. but im kinda worried about will the cold kill my batteries if i leave them plugged into my minnkota charger its the top of the line 3 bank its supposed to keep them good i just dont know how the cold pa winter will factor in. its stored in a unheated barn

If I remember right a charged battery will not freeze. With it being on the charger and you using it over the winter I would say you'll be fine. I have cars that sit out all winter with the batteries in them, one I don't even keep a battery tender on, I will give it a full charge before winter sets in and it will be fine and will crank the car come spring.

I'm in the midwest so my winters are pretty much like your I would guess.
