 7:15AM-12:30PM Sunny, calm turning breezy, 65-85 air temps, 72-75 water temps, heavily stained water. Baitfish were breaking on the surface near the spillway area. I headed out there immediately and on the third cast with a SK crank I slammed a thick ole' pickerel. Also worked the area with the SK Redeye lipless crank and a Norman DD crank. Landed six bass. Pitched the jig/chunk for about an hour with no luck. Headed back out to the deeper water with the lipless crank. Nailed the best of the day at just a hair over 3lbs. Most of the bass had thick bellies on them.

Nice work, that pick looks like a pretty nice one by the size of its head. I have been using those redeye shad a lot lately, I got a nice channel cat on it the other week, everything seems to like them.

How common are the pickerel down there?
Do they take over a small system?
Nice catching.
