New member out of SC. Recently got ahold of my grandpas old (1971?) Eldocraft 14 foot Jon. Needs an outboard still but I've taken it to a few little ponds and really loved it so far. Still have a few things I want to add as well (seats, rod holders, etc.) as you can tell from the pics it's already come a long way though. The old is on the bottom for some reason; sorry for any confusion

A South Carolina chapter of AOMCI is having a meet soon. I can't find the particulars at the moment. You might just find a small '71 outboard there to match your boat!

Found it.....copied and pasted the info:
Carolinas AOMCI (NC,SC, and SWVA) is having a two day event at Hickory Knob Resort on Clarks Hill Lake, SC next weekend (May 30, 31 some of us will be there by Friday eve, 29th.) Y'all come see us now ya hear...

Welcome to the forum.
Here's a link to a series of articles about finding a cheap outboard.

The author leans heavy to OMC. brands but I learned a lot from them.
Take GGoldy's advice on the AOMCI meet. Always a lot of deals and
help there.
Good Luck with Your project.
