Picked this boat up the other day it was on craigslist , Got it for $200 the transom needed replaced but other then that the boat was in great shape for the age If I am reading the HIN right it is a 1973 .. I replaced the transom then painted it I want to put a casting deck and two seats in just wondering what type of carpet other people have used .. also got to get a trailer for it and trolling motor and maybe a gas motor not to sure yet .. Any ideas will be helpful this is my first build

After transom and painting

How come I never find these $200 boats. Nice score. As far as carpet etc, do a search and will find all kinds of choices made. Do whatever works for you

Well went and got the wood for the casting deck was going to go with aluminum but the cost was a little to high for me also picked up a bow mount trolling motor for 60.00 that was just taken off this guy bass tracker two weeks ago good shape and runs could not beat that ..

I used carpet on a previous build I did and found that I didn't like it. Hooks got caught in it and it's a pain to get the slime, mud, etc off of it.

My current boat has a large front casting deck and rear seat. I'm thinking I might cover them with hydro turf.

Does this get slippery ? I know it may be stupid to ask but never seen it before , Always had carpet in boats

Not a bit ... there's built-in 'nooks & valleys' type feature to the material, akin to the top of an English muffin if you get my drift, that give it ample footing. But it also cleans up really well! My boat is turning 20-years old this season and when I clean it up, it still looks great - see the attached picture.

It also wears really well! 20-year old carpet would be grimy, stinky, soiled and look like crap by now ... if not requiring replacement many year ago ...
