I know what your thinking and stop.

I want to buy some decent quality meat (a couple of good quality steaks) to send to someone as a gift/thank you. Im not feeling Omaha steaks, anyone recommend a decent online place that does this. Im not trying to be too cheap but a deal would be huge.

Jim? As long as you're thinking gift foods, you might also consider expanding your search to Lobster (you're right on the East coast,) American Bison (I'm sure there are ranches that offer premium gift packages, and there used to be an excellent company out on the West coast that sold the very best fresh fruits...especially the pears...but an array of succulent foods as gifts. I think it was called "Harry and David" and was very popular as business gifts around the holidays.

In Wisconsin, there's an organization named "Swiss Colony" which sells packaged cheeses and sausage and ships.

Nice idea. Good luck.

I've been hugely dissappointed in gifts that I've received from Omaha Steaks recently, the quality seems to be much worse than it once was. I purchased a gift for my in-laws from Stock Yards Meat Packing in Chicago, but haven't tried their product myself. They seem to have a good reputation online and supply steakhouses across the country. I think they are also associated with Harry and David.

There's also Kansas City Steaks, which I've heard good things about from friends, but again haven't tried myself.

Check out www.hebertsmeats.com

The boneless stuffed chickens are great, but there is also a great selection of gator, crawfish, steaks, sausage etc...
