I've never used a FF for much more than a depth/temperature gauge.
Recently, I have been fishing areas with flooded timber. As the lakes are lower now, those trees are much nearer to the surface than before.
My question is....is the mapping software on a $500./$700 unit similar to the Helix good enough to show me, in advance, that I am entering an area with underwater trees? I know enough to go very slow once I am in the trees.
I was looking at a full-size physical map yesterday of Conroe. It was well marked as to the areas that I would be entering. Is that sort of data present on a Helix type of unit?
Even though I have been boating/fishing for most of my 77 years, obviously, this area has escaped me Any and all input and help appreciated.
