Splashwell

My boat has one. I've never had water come up over the transom and probably never will considering my fishing style. But, if it did, I would be glad to have the splash well. Beyond that, I would think it has to add considerable structure to the transom. It is also convenient to store your gaso tank and battery under. At this point I'm used to it being there. Doesn't bother me.

Curious why you want to eliminate the spashwell?
 
Alright.i have just not seen them on many jon boats was curious as to why its even there minus the obvious of keeping water off transom

A picture of the boat would be helpful, My tinboat never had one and has stayed afloat since 66 but some boats may be designed with it neccecary
 
All i got at the moment its not a tiller but weights 235 dry
